MY FATHER WAS A BUILDER

The artwork is a direct reference to my childhood. The little “map,” comprising pieces of bricks in a box against the wall, invites the viewer to envision the possibility of creating a house and offers a way to reflect on the ideas of construction and home. The drawings are represent the imaginary houses a child might imagine or one’s father might build and reference the personal, cultural, and social concept of home.

Installation work exhibited in a solo show "A Sense of Place" at the Kentler International Drawing Space in 2014.
