GRASSLAND

The series “Grassland” emerged as a personal response to a landscape I discovered in Ucross, Wyoming. During my daily walks, I began to collect grass, rocks, and coal from the surrounding area and to experiment with this raw material in my creative process. I used an etching press as a way to leave traces of natural elements collected from my immediate surroundings. The traces on paper of these fragments of landscape express my personal experience of the land at the time of my residency.

This work was made possible thank to the Ucross residency in Wyoming.

Installation: drawings, prints, stones, thread and cow skull.
